  The special talk

  i know i'm a bit late on this but i wanted to discuss the so called special talk.

  during the entire talk all i could think about was the fact that this was just another way for the society to keep the flock frightened about armageddon.

  since their generation theory was basically going to be proved wrong they had to scrap that teaching.

  I had a very similar line of thought as yours.

  Also, the man who gave the talk at my congo mentioned how tragic the events of 9-11 were.
  All I kept thinking about is this: How can a JW call the 9-11 incident a tragedy and then rejoice at the closeness of Armageddon?

  "The WTC people died and we're sad. The Armageddon people will die and we're happy. Die tragically now and we'll mourn for you. Die in Armageddon and we'll pull out our harps and wine and sing and dance the everlasting years away"

  i just wanted to tell you that i found information in an old catechism.

  basically, it shows that *some* archdioceses abstained from meat on all fridays prior to vatican ii.

  it is up to the bishop of each archdiocese and most dioceses in the roman catholic rite in the us had that.

  i'm just curious...if you had the opportunity, who on this board would you like to meet if given the chance (or could without getting "in trouble"!)?

  (could be serious, could be fun...) i for one, am just sooo curious to meet the cat himself... just to find out if he's much different in person than in his online persona!

  Let Me Refresh You Or GET THE HELL OUT!

  i was sitting at the meeting last night looking for more things to be critical about (lol!)..

  the year text is "come to me...and i will refresh you"-matthew 11:28. as i was staring at the text as it hung on the wall, i looked over at a married teenage couple who were disfellowhipped for "poking" prior to marriage.. okay, they had sex before marriage.

  but they did get married.

  Well, let's see...
  I left an anonymous note on their car windshield, encouraging them to hang in there and that they are loved. (I think they know I left the note since I saw them in the supermarket the night I left the note!)

  I turned around during a recent meeting and made eye contact with her and I winked at her.

  I smiled at him during a recent meeting when our paths crossed.

  Oh, and during the Memorial (I was an Attendant), they were standing in the back of the hall (actually, beyond the double doors. So, they were actually in the foyer area). I walked up to him while the talk was being given. There were about 20 people in the foyer at the time. I asked the DF'd couple if they would like to sit in the auditorium. They said they were okay where they were and I asked them if they were sure and they said yes.
  After I took count, I plucked the DF wife over the head with a piece of paper.

  Anyway, to answer your question, they appear to be doing fine. He shaved off all of his hair. LOL!

  The Jehovahs Witness do not believe they are under an umbrella of Divine Protection while being active in Kingdom Works.

  That statement may or may not be true, depending on which JW you speak to.

  If a JW was shot and killed while (for example) partying at a night club instead of being at the Theocratic Ministry School that night, they would say that if they came to the meeting that night they'd still be alive.

  But when something like this occurs (the lady getting shot after leaving the meeting), it's "unforseen occurrence".

  i have only two close friends who are witnesses that i care about.

  i would like to share my feelings with them and still not get dfd.

  do you think it is possible or should i forget it.

  It probably won't work.
  So far, I've talked to my wife, an elder, a former Ministerial Servant, a male Publisher, an inactive sister, another former Ministerial Servant, and a so-called weak male Publisher.
  The result?
  All (EXCEPT the inactive sister) had the same indoctrinated response: 'Where else is there to go? No one else preaches the Good News'.
  Even the so-called weak and "less spiritual" ones have the same JW-taught reaction.

  You gotta love how, when a JW is pinned down, they call you a name ("silly apostate" -MavMan).
  I'm an active JW. I stand by my point that JW's DO sell literature.
  It is NOT done on a voluntary donation basis in every country around the globe!
  And, how good of a Witness is your wife if she ISN'T asking for donations more than 5% of the time?
  Silly wife married to a silly, DF'd MavMan.
  I shouldn't even be talking to you until your butt gets reinstated!
